Dearest Madam Jadan,
I am a student in Piano Performance at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. I'm from Romania and I collected a lot
of recordings, including a good number of vocal recordings.
I had the chance of listening, at Professor
Nicholas De Vergilio, Ivan Jadan's recordings. I was astonished, overwhelmed, very deeply touched. I know most of the Slavic tenors dead or alive. Ivan Jadan was, without the smallest doubt, the
greatest of them all. I believe his only equal in Russian singing to be the great bass Chaliapine.
I sincerely hope more recordings of Ivan Jadan to be found and published. His great heart, the power of
embodying in the unique sound of his voice a forgotten spirituality, remain unforgettable for those who are able to know what privilege is to be listening to him. God's gift!
All the best wishes in the world,
Samir Golescu
